Working with Fife Council, we are set to transform the centre’s gym and studio spaces to give customers much-improved, dedicated spaces to make getting active even more enjoyable.
We recently announced completion of phase one works with the re-opening of the sports hall to customers, and, phase two is on schedule with completion expected early next month.
The works will deliver significant improvements for customers thanks to a more spacious gym, with almost double the floor space of the old one, as well as a new dedicated aerobic studio space. The centre will also benefit from additional works that will see upgraded toilets, reception area and decoration to corridors as well as disabled access improvements, delivering a fully compliant accessible changing room, and, refurbishment of wet and dry changing areas, including showers.
Ed Watson, chief executive of Fife Sports and Leisure Trust, said: “The trust is committed to delivering affordable, accessible high-quality physical activity opportunities for local communities so that they can experience the health and wellbeing benefits associated with getting active. The refurbishment works are going to deliver a real difference for customers – they will be able to take advantage of greatly-improved spaces and state-of-the-art gym equipment.

Cllr Judy Hamilton, the Council’s Convener of Community & Housing Services Committee added: “In working towards a fairer Fife, this is an important council investment of over £1.4m in an area where there is limited alternative sports facilities and quite significant health inequality compared with other parts of Fife. The gym extension and new dedicated aerobics studio are very welcome and are set to improve disabled access – essential in making sure everyone has better access to sport and leisure opportunities.”
