Current training courses 

Fife has a shortage of Leisure Attendants and Swimming Instructors. The NPLQ or SSTQ courses will unlock many employment opportunities for those aged 16 and over. 

Leisure Attendants - NPLQ
To become a Leisure Attendant, you need to complete a National Pool Lifeguard Qualification. This is a 36 hour 5 day course which costs £280.

Swimming Instructors - SSTQ
To become a Swimming Instructors you need to complete the Scottish Swimming Teacher Qualification. This is the industry standard for those who wish to teach unsupervised to groups of swimmers with a range of abilities. 

The 8 day course costs £550 participants can apply for funding from subsidy of £100 from Sportscotland. Candidates must apply directly to Scottish Swimming by submitting a SSTQ Subsidy form to subsidy@scottishswimming.com prior to the first day of the course.

    We are looking to increase the number of children’s activity sessions and we are searching for qualified sports coaches to join our team to help us with this.

    Staff can enjoy a total of 33 days including public holidays, 6 of which are fixed.
