It's great to see customers back in our gyms!

With the temporary restrictions and 1-meter social distancing measures in place, our gym facilities will still offer an extensive range of equipment including free weights and functional training equipment as well as cardiovascular training equipment from Technogym and Origin fitness. 

We ask that you limit your time on any one machine or station to 20 minutes to allow everyone the opportunity to use the equipment available.

Our staff will be cleaning and sanitising the equipment regularly and we encourage you to clean the equipment before and after you use it to ensure every precaution is taken to stay safe while using our gym facilities. 

Please follow guidance from staff and signage within the centre throughout your visit to ensure a safe visit.

Your FREE Member Journey

Fife Sports and Leisure Trust offer every gym customer an opportunity to undertake a member journey with one of our fully qualified gym instructors.

Our instructors will take you through an individual consultation that includes

  • Finding out more about your current and previous activity levels
  • A discussion around your specific goals and what you want to achieve with your gym sessions
  • We provide a training programme to support those goals
  • We give you a review at 4, 8 and 12 weeks to track your progress
  • We ask how you felt the member journey went and we ask for your feedback through our customer survey

Pre-booking removal 

We're pleased to announce that because of the Perspex screens now in place in the gym, we have been able to increase capacity. 

After a successful trial at Michael Woods Sports & Leisure Centre, from Monday 12th July, the following leisure centres will now no longer require pre-booking at weekends and during weekday times below.

Frequently asked questions

During these times we understand customers have concerns, we have taken the opportunity to clarify some common questions. If you have any further please do not hesitate to get in touch.

Will I have to pre-book the gym? 
Yes. Due to social distancing, we will have to limit the number of people on site. In order to do this, we will be asking you to pre-book your visit in advance. We regret it will not be possible during the first phase of reopening to attend without pre-booking and we thank you in advance for your co-operation with this important health and safety measure.

How do I book a gym session?
All sessions should be booked online or via the FastTrack booking system. All sessions can be booked online, please ensure you register with our online booking system.

How long before my session should I arrive?
Please arrive 'Gym ready' no more than 5 minutes prior to the start of your gym session.

How long is a gym session?
Gym sessions are limited to a maximum of 55-minutes.
Due to the restricted numbers allowed in the gym at any one time, we want to make sure that we give all our customers the opportunity to stay active and feel great, so, we have limited each gym session to 55 minutes.

Please turn up 'Gym ready' no more than 5 minutes before you session starts.

How do I know the equipment is clean?
Staff are on hand to clean the equipment throughout the day, and we also expect customers to clean their own equipment before and after each use.

Staff have received additional training in response to the Covid-19 health and safety requirements and will be regularly cleaning all gym equipment throughout the day to ensure our customers enjoy a safe visit. In addition, all customers will be asked to clean equipment before and after use.

Cleaning stations will be clearly marked within the gym.
Are there time limits for the use of equipment?

Yes. We ask that you limit your time on any one piece of equipment to 20 minutes. This will allow everyone the opportunity to use the equipment. If the gym is quieter, this can be extended, but if people are waiting please keep to the 20 minutes as suggested.

We want to give all customers the opportunity to use the equipment that is available for use. To do this, we ask that at busy times, you limit your use of each piece of equipment to 20 minutes. We thank you in advance for your support.
Can I request to use a specific piece of equipment that is not in use?

While we would like to rotate equipment in and out of use due to the 2-metre rule, this is not reasonably practical for us to achieve across all our gyms so we have listed what will be available for you to use and our staff can offer an alternative exercise to work the area/muscle you want to target.

To ensure all our customers can get active safely we have identified a wide range of gym equipment that can be used during this time. Our website will clearly show what equipment is available in each venue and all equipment within our centres has been clearly labelled. Our gym staff will be on hand to offer you any support and guidance you need while we work with these new procedures.

Should I bring a sweat towel with me?
Members should not bring their own towels with them to the gym. Cleaning spray and blue paper roll will be provided.

Can I use the showers after the gym?
Unfortunately, the shower areas will not be unavailable, we ask that customers shower at home.

Do I need to wear a face mask?
Customers entering our facilities should wear face coverings before and after their activity or within non-activity areas of the facility (e.g. reception, changing rooms and walking through the facility).
